Ofelia Rodriguez Chapa

Ofelia Rodriguez Chapa, age 73, of Corpus Christi, TX passed peacefully in her sleep on December 08, 2023 at the home of her daughter in San Antonio, TX. She was born on January 17, 1950 to her loving parents Salvador and Esperanza Rodriguez. In April 1987, she chose to become the mother of three young children: Pete, Mark, and Bridget.

​Ofe had a loving spirit of service and drive for education. She gained her status as a registered nurse at the age of 50 with which she provided comfort and solace to both patients and ailing family members. Nothing brought more joy to her than knowing her family was happy and safe.

​She is preceded in death by her parents Salvador and Esperanza Rodriguez; her angel baby, Carla Bernadette; and her brothers, Jan and Daniel Rodriguez. 

​She is survived by her children, Peter Chapa (Sonia), Mark Chapa (Angie), and Bridget Imperato (Jonathan); her grandchildren, Alejandro, Estrella, Isaiah, Beverly, Xhaiden, and Roslyn; her siblings, Emelinda Daniels (Norman- deceased), Bertha Ponce (Enrique- deceased), Larry Rodriguez (Becky), Johanna Garcia (Wayo- deceased), Sylvia Ramon (Rudy- deceased), Sal Rodriguez (Becky), Leo Rodriguez, and Rachel Villareal (Gilbert); her aunts and uncles, Mary Leal (Noe), Juan Calandres, Paul Calandres (Mary Ann); and an abundance of much loved nieces and nephews.

​Our hearts rejoice in knowing that she is dancing, singing, and praising our King.

​Ofelia’s Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home,  with Pastors Gilbert and Eloisa Garcia, officiating.
