Nicholas was born in Great Bend, Kansas on June 1, 1951. He lived in many states growing up including Colorado, California, Nebraska and Texas, where he graduated from The University of Houston with a business degree. While working in the corporate world in Houston, Texas, he volunteered and raised money for the March of Dimes, ran in many fun runs and half-marathons, and enjoyed his roust a bouts in rugby matches. Eventually his business ventures led him to Montgomery, Texas, where he enjoyed the combination of small town living while also living on the golf course. He enjoyed taking his children skiing, boating, and eventually taking grandkids to fish off the dock. He was also an active member of the Montgomery County Fair Association while the girls participated in the 4H program. Nick and Roberta enjoyed finally purchasing their own ranch property in Bedias, Texas which they named Cotton Cattle Company. Eventually they came south to be with family, and moved their ranch to Alice, Texas so that they could enjoy their time with the grandkids. They enjoyed watching their sports, school programs, and all their livestock endeavors. He will be laid to rest in Bishop, Texas across from their “Dairy Queen hay farm”.
Services will be held at River Hills Baptist Church, with visitation starting at 12pm, and funeral to follow at 1pm.
Nick was heavily invested in the continuing education and involvement of youth in agriculture, so the family asks in lieu of flowers to please consider making a donation to The Texas Farm Bureau scholarship funds. https://texasfarmbureau.org/youth/scholarship-apps/
