Nelson Joe Formagus, 62, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. He was born on October 8, 1951 in Port Arthur, Texas to Joe and Alice Formagus. Nelson graduated from high school at Thomas Jefferson High School, class of 1970 and graduated from college at Stephen F. Austin University, class of 1975. Nelson spent most of his career within the insurance industry, caring for his clients, in Port Arthur and Houston. In his free time Nelson enjoyed playing golf, watching University of Texas Longhorn football, cooking his famous spaghetti sauce with meatballs, and relaxing pool side. However, Nelson most enjoyed spending time with family and friends while “having a ball”. He is survived by his son, Brian (Jennifer) Formagus of Springfield, Virginia; his daughter Laura (Curt) Jordan of Dumfries, Virginia; his grandchildren Emma and Nathan of Springfield, Virginia and MacKenzie of Dumfries, Virginia; his sister Betty (Joe) Pfeiler of Robstown, Texas; and many nephews and nieces.
