Nell Kampfhenkel

(Myrtle) Nell Kampfhenkel, 84, went to be at peace with Our Heavenly Father on January 7, 2013. She was born on July 16, 1928 in Pleasanton, Texas to Tim and Myrtle Brown. In her childhood and early adulthood she lived in Pleasanton and Corpus Christi, moving to Robstown, Texas upon her marriage to John Kampfhenkel in 1965. Thirty years later she and John relocated to Bedford, Texas. Friends and family in Robstown and all over Texas will miss Nell (Mimi to her grandchildren and great grandchildren). Nell was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and homemaker and was an active and vocal supporter of her children in their education and extracurricular activities. She was a Sunday School teacher and a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Robstown. She later transferred membership to New Hope Lutheran Church of Keller, Texas. She goes to Heaven to reunite with her parents Tim and Myrtle Brown and her sisters Alice, Audrey, Florence, Johnnie, Molly, and Viola. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, John Kampfhenkel of Bedford; her brother, Tim and his wife Sandi Brown, Jr. of San Antonio; her sons, David and his wife Terry Jarrett and R. Kirk Kampfhenkel both of Dallas-Fort Worth; grandchildren, Courtney Gaines, Brooke Stone, Kai Kampfhenkel, Ravyn Jeanell Kampfhenkel, and Christian Kampfhenkel all of Dallas-Fort Worth; great-granddaughters, Taylor Stone and Olivia Gaines of Dallas-Fort Worth and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice Service and their nurses and staff for their compassionate care and to thank her aides and the nursing staff at Parkwood/Mayfair Healthcare Community of Bedford for excellent care of Nell during rehabilitative stints over the last year and a half; a special thank you is extended to Nell's special friends Binkie Boyer-Ingram, Jackie Edger, Vickey Gilbert and Nancy Mayfield, all of the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, for their loving support and care for Nell. Visitation will be on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 1:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the family present from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Robstown with Pastor Jeffrey Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas. The family requests contributions in lieu of flowers to St. John Lutheran Church of Robstown or New Hope Lutheran Church of Keller.
