Heaven is a little brighter today since Nell Marie Anthony went home to be with her heavenly father. Nell Marie Anthony was born on June 30, 1934. She went to be with her Lord and her beloved husband on August 7, 2018 at the age of 84. Marie was Valedictorian of her graduating class of 1952 at Enola High School in Enola, Arkansas. Marie was a Certified Professional Florist and taught classes in floral arranging for many years. She also used her floral skills to beautify her church on a weekly basis for decades. Even with all this, she still considered her greatest ministry and accomplishment to be her role as wife and mother. Marie gave her life to Christ as a young girl and she faithfully attended church her entire life, even searching out churches for her family to attend while on vacations. She was a member of Ebony Acres Baptist Church and later, West Heights Baptist Church. In both churches, she taught the first through third grade boys and girls Sunday School classes for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R Anthony; parents, Russell and Ellen Chance Berry; four brothers, John Paul Herman and wife Nina, Ed Chance, Emmett Chance, and Jerry Chance and wife Faye; sister in law, JoAnn Chance; two sisters, Cuma and husband Howard and Louise Goodnight and husband Leon. She is survived by her brother, James Chance; sisters in law, Cleo Chance and Evelyn Chance; sons, Russell Blake Anthony and wife Janet, Donald Wayne Anthony and wife Trinetta; daughter, Beverly Jean Duncan and husband, Walter; grandchildren, Sheri Stephens, Blake Anthony Jr., James Stephens, Rebecca Witherstine, Rachelle Coulter, Karina Morris, Ryan Anthony, Joshua Anthony, Dillon Anthony, Heather Morrow, Sharon Stephens, Michele Summa, Frankie Cervera; 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Marie leaves behind a legacy of faith with many of the children she taught, now serving as church leaders, pastors and missionaries. She raised her kids to always know unconditional love and unwavering integrity. Her life was centered around following and serving Jesus and she always enjoyed the friendship of many in the body of Christ because she gave selflessly in her friendship to them. She was admired greatly by her children, grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Her three great loves in life were her Savior Jesus, her husband and her children. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Chapel. A reception with the family will follow at River Hills at Oak Park Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas starting at 12:30 P.M. Funeral services in Arkansas will be on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas. Interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery in Barney, Arkansas.
