Nelda Sharon Ramsey

Nelda Sharon Ramsey was born March 12, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Mildred and Calvin J. Scott. She passed away after a long illness on August 17, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings Peggy Brown, Calvin T. Scott, Carolyn Jordan.

She is survived by her children Donnis (Scott) Hill, Scott (Lynn) Ramsey, Sharon Ramsey, and Derrilene (Ken)Tavares.

9 Grandchildren, Michael (Brooke) Brown, Saira Hill, Reaghan Ramsey, Jason (Nicole) Hill, Amanda (Richie)Burnett, Erica (Brandon) Williams, Amanda (Chad) Jackson, and Kenny Tavares.

14 Great grandchildren, Gunner Brown, Laramie Brown, Ava Hill, Layla Hill, Bennet Hill, Birdie Hill, Samuel Burnett, Caleb Burnett, Kennedy Williams, Hadleigh Williams, Mya Jackson, Braxton Tavares, Kennan Tavares, and Britton Tavares

Mom worked at Southwestern Refining in Corpus Christi, Texas and retired in 1997. In her retirement she was an avid quilter and belonged to many quilting groups over the years. Some of her family’s most prized possessions were those quilts she made over the years. Mom wasn’t one to sit still, so she worked as an Usher for the Corpus Christi Hooks and the American Bank Center and spent her spare time volunteering her services and a smile at Janet’s Cakery

Nelda loved the color red and big earrings. Each year at Christmas time she would wear a different pair of giant Christmas ball earrings throughout the season. She had a big personality, and her family will miss her greatly.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 5:00-8:00PM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 11:00AM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home with the entombment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
