Naomi was a graduate of Incarnate Word Academy and the University of Texas-Austin where she was a member and officer of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Following graduation she worked for Braniff Airways for 5 years as a reservation agent in Saudi Arabia.
After returning to Texas, her brother Billy introduced her to the love of her life, Edwin J. "Younga" Tischler. They married in 1958 and were lifelong residents of Violet, Texas, where she was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Violet. Naomi, alongside her husband, was an area farmer; she loved gardening and spent countless hours in her yard. She was a past president of the Robstown Garden Club and a past superintendent in the Nueces County Jr. Livestock Show Homemaking Division. Naomi worked for Violet Gin and Grain for 10 years before retiring to continue farming with her son.
When asked what her greatest accomplishments in life were, she would tell you they were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Naomi is survived by her daughter Imogene Tischler Hayek; sons and their wives Andrew and Laura Tischler; Peter and Lorna Tischler. Her grandchildren Cassie Hayek; Brody Hayek and his wife Stephanie; Sarah Hayek Ortega and her husband Indalecio Jr., and Samantha Tischler. Naomi also dearly loved her three great-grandchildren: Bella Hayek, Skylar and Cami Ortega; and her grand dog Jake. Naomi was so very loved by her numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
