Nancy Rose Potts was born in Dugger, Indiana on August 18, 1937. At the age of 19 she moved to Corpus Christi, Tx where she met Patrick William Bullock Sr. They became acquainted while working at HEB #7 on Alameda. Nancy was employed in the bakery, and it didn’t take long till she discovered a few bakery goods were the way to Bro. Pat’s heart. They fell in love, married and she converted from being a Yankee to a Texan as quickly as possible. They were blessed with three children whom they loved dearly and before whom they sought to model a life of honoring and serving the Lord in ministry to this day.
Nancy was a faithful ministry partner. She never seemed happier than when she was working alongside Bro. Pat in ministering to others. In every church Bro. Pat led as a pastor, Nancy invariably performed various leadership or staff roles. Her most recent ministry role had been as the Financial Secretary of Summit Church Texas. Nancy retired from that responsibility in 2024, but she continued to serve as Bro. Pat’s secretary in preparation for his Sunday School lesson plan each week.
Nancy always had a high priority of focusing on the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of her children, Bill, Tamah, and Cindi. There were times when she made personal sacrifices in the interests of her growing children, but that’s just who she was. It wasn’t uncommon for her to clip coupons, sew dresses for herself or her daughters and to squirrel away a few bucks from the groceries to meet the needs of her children or her spouse. She always had a heart sensitive to looking out for the interests of others and this desire was especially evident to her family.
On the morning of February 15, 2025, Nancy passed away at the age of 87 after a sudden illness. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Harold Taylor Potts; mother, Opal Anderson Potts; sisters, Deloras Beasley and LoRene Jones; brothers, Harry Allen Potts, Richard Ira Potts, and her great grandson, Peyton Stewart Bullock.
She is survived by her brother, John William (Bill) Potts of Brazil, IN. She is survived by her husband, Reverend Patrick W. Bullock Sr., Corpus Christi, TX (with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage on February 10, 2025) and their three children, Patrick W. Bullock Jr. (Bill), Tamah Gail (Bullock) Thomas, and Cindi Jane (Bullock) Allen; four grandchildren, James Patrick Bullock, William H. B. Bullock, Jarob Anthony Bullock, and Denee Yuhas, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She’s no longer here. She’s gone home to be with her Lord and Savior. Today her highest desire for this service is that Jesus would be the focal point rather than her being the center of attention. She’s always sought to exalt her Savior in word and deed! She wants the person who hasn’t received Christ to know He loves you and longs for you to accept His gift of salvation. For the believer ensnared in sin, or broken because of some spiritual or emotional trauma she wants you to know Jesus loves you and wants to relieve you of the pain and bondage you’re in today. Simply put, He loves you and wants a renewed fellowship with you! May you be comforted, encouraged and uplifted today as we celebrate the life and legacy of Nancy Bullock.
