Morris W. Byerley, 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas went to be with his Lord peacefully after a long battle with COPD and heart disease on Monday, December 19, 2011. Morris was born July 7, 1934 in Clarkwood, Texas to Walter and Jewell Mitchell Byerley. He graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 1952 where he was an all around student athlete. He was employed as an office manager for an insulation company before his retirement. Morris was an avid hunter, fisherman and Calallen Wildcat fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bruce Byerley and a brother, Richard Byerley. Morris is survived by the mother of his children, Ann Byerley; three sons, Forrest (Kelly) Byerley, John (Kathy) Byerley and Craig (Cindi) Byerley; three brothers, John (Mary) Byerley, Bill (Cheri) Byerley, and Mike (Margot) Byerley; one sister, Debbie Brown; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. until 7 P.M. for the family and from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M. for friends, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Country Tabernacle Church in Bluntzer, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Country Tabernacle Church in Bluntzer, Texas with Pastors John Byerley, Bill Stockstill, Kenneth Crews and Darren Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore, Texas. Pallbearers will be Jeremy, Daniel and Billy Byerley, Kenneth Crews, Darren Smith, Joshua Blair and Marcos Gutierrez.
