Monroe Otto Jauer, Jr., 87, passed away early Thursday morning, September 20, 2012 at his home in Oakville, Texas. Born to Monroe Otto Jauer, Sr. and Callie Marie Appling on January 27, 1925, he was the third of nine children. He served in the Army-Air Corp during WWII returning home in 1946. He was the coach of the Giants Baseball Team that won the city championship for the Robstown Little League. He and his wife, Jean, just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 1, 2012. He is a former resident of Robstown, Texas where he worked and retired from the City of Robstown Utility Company for 35 years. He also maintained a working ranch and farming lifestyle while working for the Robstown Power Plant. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Marie Blair from Harlingen, Texas and Wilma Faye Dennis from Orange Grove, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Jean; three sons, Monroe a.k.a. Monte (Mary) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Larry (Karen) and Randy (Cindy) all of Kountze, Texas; one daughter, Vickie (Rick) Wilson of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters and brothers, Marian Shenk, Velma Worden, Frances Hurley, Pauline Neal, Clyde Jauer, and Robert "Buddy" Jauer; four grandsons; four granddaughters; eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his family, including Monte Jauer, Larry Jauer, Randy Jauer, Rick Wilson, Gregg Wilson and Brian Wilson. Honorary pallbearer will be Eddie Shenk.
