Milton “Mickey” Loyd Williams, 92, was called to be with our Lord and Savior on February 27, 2021. Mickey was born in Bishop, Texas on October 17, 1928 to Sherman W. Williams and Sallie H. Brown. He graduated from Banquete High School in 1947 and also proudly served in the United States Air Force. Throughout his life, he continued to support the Banquete Bulldog’s football team and attended every local Friday night game until recently. He married Bettye Jean Parr Williams in 1950 and they had two beautiful children, Debbie and Marcie.
Mickey was a gregarious person and could talk to anyone. His smile was biggest when watching his daughters play the piano and his eldest excelling in sports. He was a member of Agua Dulce Baptist Church and led the singing for many years at First Baptist Church of Banquete. Mickey had a strong work ethic. He worked for Tennessee Gas P/L for 35 years and farmed the land where he lived throughout his life, only retiring five years ago. He also loved restoring old tractors in his later life.
He is preceded in death by family members: Sherman W. Williams, Sallie H. Brown, Bobbie Ruth Wright, Barbara Ann Wright, James Carlton Roberts and Stella Mae Kilpatrick.
Mickey is survived by his wife, Bettye Jean Williams; his brother, John Henry and Shirley Williams; his daughters and son in laws, Debbie and Wolfgang Avery, Marcie and Neal Perlman; granddaughter, Hillary Perlman; and grandson, Hunter Avery. He extended his love and good nature to all his kinfolk, nieces, nephews and
cousins included.
The funeral service will be held at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 2:00PM with interment to follow at Robstown Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
