Mildred Voelkel

Mildred Juanita Voelkel (1923-2017), beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on January 23, 2017. She was born in Honey Grove, Texas and lived her life in South Texas. She worked and retired as a registered nurse. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, playing cards and games with friends and watching the Astros, Spurs, and Cowboys games. She is remembered for the love and kindness she shared and admired for her courage and strength in facing life’s challenges. She is preceded in death by her husband Weldon and nine siblings. She is survived by Jeff (Linda) and Carla, Dub; three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
