Milburn Frank Walker

Milburn (Mid) Frank Walker passed away peacefully on Monday evening December 20 2021 at Sodalis Assisted Living in Garden Ridge Texas. Mid was born on October 23 1928 in Datto Arkansas to Benjamin and Essie Walker. He grew up in Datto working the family farm and on other area farms until he joined the Air Force for a four year stint during the Korean War. He married Louise Doyal on April 10 1954 and remained with her for 63 years until her passing on September 17 2017. Dad spent his working career with the Army as a civilian employee working with the military as a liaison between the upper brass and the helicopter repair depots he worked at. His job took him all over the country with he and mom living in Pennsylvania and Missouri as well as three different towns in Texas. Dad was good with his hands and especially excelled in woodworking. He and mom spent several years making and selling wood arts and crafts all over South Texas after they retired. Mid is survived by his son Mike of Robstown and his love Nichol Edlin of Taft and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and self-adopted neighborhood kids. Mid was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Essie Walker, his wife Louise and son Garry as well as brothers Glenburn and Preston and sister Masie. A funeral service will be held at Sawyer-George Funeral Home 12497 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi Texas at 1:00 pm on Thursday December 30, 2021 with visitation at the same location on Wednesday December 29, 2021 from 4-8 pm. Mausoleum services will follow the funeral at Memorial Park on FM 1889 in Robstown Texas. The family would like to thank Bulverde Assisted Living for the years that dad resided there, The Heights of Bulverde, Sodalis Assisted Living, and Hope Hospice for the help they provided dad after his injury.
