Michelle Buis

Michelle “Mickey” Buis,70, passed away November 20, 2019. She was born and raised in the Harrison, Ohio area. She attended school there and graduated high school in 1967. Throughout her early years she showed both interest and abilities in a variety of arts, crafts and creative activities. In those years the school systems did not provide much opportunity for developing such talents. It was always felt that Mickey would have excelled in some form of arts training. After a brief marriage and the birth of her son, Todd Doerr, Mickey relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where she married Charles W. Buis. In approximately 1977 she relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas where she remained until her passing. Her husband, Charlie, passed away on January 6, 1989, and she never remarried. During her years in Corpus Christi Mickey went through a number of various jobs while raising her son. After moving to the Calallen area she began to experiment in the food service area. She worked for a period of time at Beckers, a local eatery/boutique establishment. For several years Mickey cared for her father, Lloyd Francis Curry, in his declining years. He passed away on August 1, 2014. It was during that time Mickey’s own health problems began to be more severe. She struggled with these conditions until her demise. She will be missed by both family and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at the VFW Post 3837, 12030 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410 on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
