Mount Belvieu

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the untimely passing of Michael Stewart, fondly known as Mike, on July 20th, 2023, in Pueblo, Colorado. At the age of only 62, his sudden departure has left his family and friends in profound shock and grief. He was born on March 6, 1961, in Laredo, Texas, to Buster and Hilda Stewart.

Mike's legacy lives on through his cherished family, starting with his beloved mother, Hilda Stewart. He is survived by his children Michael, Kathryn (and William), and Joshua, whom he loved and treasured dearly. Furthermore, he was adored by his grandchildren, Kayce, Serenity, Leyna, and Caedon, who will forever hold his memory in their hearts. Mike's presence was a constant source of joy and love for his siblings and their families, namely Jimmy & Pam, David & Jeanie, Betty & Rich, Robert & Donna, and Rachel.

After graduating from Calhoun High School in 1979, Mike encountered the love of his life, Martha, with whom he built a warm and nurturing home in Corpus Christi. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Michael, Kathryn, and Joshua, instilling in them the values of compassion and dedication. Mike's dedication extended to his professional life as well, where he displayed unwavering commitment during his tenure in the construction industry. Eventually, fate guided him to Burns and McDonnell, where he discovered his true calling. Known for his tenacity and meticulous approach, Mike was always prepared to take on any challenge that came his way. Despite his sometimes gruff demeanor, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need, earning him the admiration and respect of his colleagues.

Tragedy struck when he lost his beloved Martha, but Mike found solace in the serenity of fishing. Relocating to Port O' Connor, Texas, he formed a special bond with his nephew, David, affectionately called "Hot Sauce" Stewart. Together, they spent countless days on the water, sharing laughter, fishing tales, and joyous camaraderie, leaving behind cherished memories for those who were fortunate enough to witness their bond.

Mike's life was marked by a rich tapestry of stories and happiness that touched the lives of all who crossed his path. He was known for his generous heart and caring nature, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those he encountered. The void he leaves behind cannot be filled, as he was a unique soul who radiated warmth and compassion wherever he went.

May he find eternal peace alongside his beloved Martha, and may the memories of his infectious laughter and boundless love provide comfort to those mourning his passing. The world has lost a truly remarkable individual, and he will be profoundly missed. In remembrance of a life well-lived, let us celebrate the legacy of Michael Stewart and the enduring impact he had on the lives of many.
