Michael William (aka “Vern”) Snyder, 67, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away on July 14, 2015, in his hometown of Corpus Christi. He was born May 20, 1948, in Bakersfield, California. Mike is the son of the late Deloss William and Sheila Snyder. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Bonnie Love Snyder, their daughter Cori Lynn Love Snyder, daughter Heather Snyder Sullivan, son Michael Brandon Snyder (wife, Kristi Kollatschny) of Kingwood, grandsons Braxten William Snyder Sullivan and Ethan Gene Sullivan, sister Cindy Yant (husband, John) of Honey Grove, sister Kathy Hubner (husband, Mike), brother Brad Snyder (partner, Tom Tagliabue) as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. He is preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Snyder. Mike and Bonnie saw hard times and plenty of good times. He was a good, loving, supportive and generous husband and father always working on projects and going the extra mile to make his family happy. He loved collecting coins, going hunting, making his family laugh, and not to mention he was the world’s biggest Lady Gaga fan. He always had a smile on his face and was positive about everything in life. Mike was an avid fan of NASCAR. He was known for his generosity, kindness, fun-loving and easy going personality. Family birthday and holiday celebrations gave Mike the opportunity to share his cooking skills and enjoying a Schaefer beer "at room temp"! Mike graduated from Richard King High School and attended the University of Houston. Following a career in commercial construction, Mike worked for Del Mar College for 15 years and then with the City of Corpus Christi before retiring in 2012. Services will be on Monday, July 20, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Sawyer George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard Street. At a later date, his ashes will be spread at his beautiful Texas Hill Country deer lease where he was the most happy.
