On Saturday, September 4th, 2021, Merrill Bronnenberg, passed away at the age of 75.
Merrill was born in San Diego, California to Donald Wilson and Betty Mae (Smith) Ross. He worked passionately for over 40 years in oil refinery maintenance and turn-around services throughout the United States and was highly regarded for his knowledge of oil refinery construction, operation and maintenance.
Merrill served 3 years in the United States Army reaching a rank of Sergeant. He served one tour in the Vietnam War receiving the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat.
On October 3, 1969, Merrill married Carine Regine (Cline) Bronnenberg. They raised two sons and one daughter: Edward, Jerritt, and Aimee.
Being a life-long learner, Merrill held a BS in Chemical Engineering, BA in Business Administration and also studied in areas of forestry, metallurgy, computer science and theological studies.
Merrill is survived by his wife Carine; his two brothers and sister, Paul, Glenn and Bonnie; his three children, Edward (Annette), Jerritt (Michelle) and Aimee (Matthew); and nine grand-children, Caleb, Casey, Emma, Logan, Gwen, Dawson, Dalen, Delton, and Deanie-Rhae.
Graveside services will be at 10 AM Monday, September 13, 2021 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
