Maxine Wagener Bode passed away September 8, 2016. She was born September 30, 1929 in Yoakum Texas to Marvin and Hilda Wagener. Her teaching career began in 1956 with the Calallen School District and continued for thirty three years. She was a positive role model for the many children she taught. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill , a son Bryan, a daughter Roxy and her brother Marvin. She was also predeceased by her lifelong friend, Carolyn Winters. Maxine is survived by daughter, Betty (Greg) Murphy; son, Wade (Brenda) Bode; and a son-in-law, Mike Linton; seven grandchildren: Joli (Jeremy) Finch, Staci (Jared) McCullough, Beth (Mak) Becker, Matthew (Audrey) Bode, Bryan Bode, Laci (John Paul) Reed and Lori Linton. She is also survived by her eight great grandchildren; Jaden and Jaci Finch, Brooke and Brenna Becker, Kaydance and Gweneth Bode, and Murphy and Kollins McCullough. All of her grandchildren/great grandchildren brought immense joy to her life. As a loving mother and grandmother, she will be missed by all. Maxine was so fortunate to have a special sister whom she loved dearly, Loleta Riley. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. at Sawyer George Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church, 14521 Northwest Blvd. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.
