Ida Maurine Smith Davis was born on July 5, 1925 in Pleasanton, TX to Ivy Lois (Risinger) and Rufus Luther Smith. She was the youngest of 14 children from 2 families who united after the Spanish Flu of 1918 changed their lives. She went to high school there and attended one year of college in Denton before moving to Corpus Christi about 1945. That was where she learned the truth from her Bible study about a future paradise on earth with a hope for a resurrection back to perfect life here on earth. She and her husband, William H. (Bill) Davis, Jr., enjoyed 64 years of service to Jehovah God together. She was instrumental in supporting him so that he could serve in various aspects of the Christian Ministry.
Her mother and father, as well as her husband, Bill, preceded her in death. Her 13 siblings also preceded her. She almost reached the age of 100 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Tijerina; a son, Ronald Davis (Ginger); a grandson, Ryan Davis, 5 step-grandchildren and their children and great-greats, many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
She looked forward to a time when she could once again enjoy the delights of Jehovah’s creation, such as beautiful flowers and plants, and she especially loved babies and small children. We are awaiting that time as well.
