Matthew Whetstone

Matthew Thomas Whetstone, 38, of Corpus Christi, Texas, well loved son of Sheree Zonkel and step-father, Don Zonkel, went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday morning, December 15, 2010. He was born September 29, 1972 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from Calallen High School in 1991, earned his bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas, and taught school in Denton, Texas and the surrounding area for 15 years. He is survived by his mom, Sheree (Don); his two children, Gavin and Kendra and their mother, Michelle Whetstone; his sister, Lisa (Brandon); three brothers, Timothy, Christopher and Sean; his maternal grandparents, Marsha and Norman Whetstone; many nieces, nephews, aunts and friends. We love you Matt. You have found peace with your Lord, and we will see you again for a joyous reunion. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, December 20, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Micah Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
