Mary Beth Schonhoeft Sykora, 74, of Robstown, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in a San Antonio, Texas hospital. She was born October 21, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Roman and Sophie Bezdek Snapka. Mary Beth was retired from GTE after more than 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Czech Heritage Society and the Polka of A’s. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Schonhoeft, her parents and her brother, Jake Snapka. She is survived by her husband, Raymond John Sykora; one son, Robert (Veronica) Schonhoeft; one daughter, Judy (Alvaro) Villalon; one sister, Sister Martha Ann Snapka; two brothers, Larry (Carolyn) Snapka and Alfred (Lucille) Snapka; five grandchildren, Christian and Mitchell Schonhoeft and Christina, Ryan, and Kyle Villalon; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas with Rev. Zenon Konowalek as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Violet, Texas. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Christian and Mitchell Schonhoeft, Ryan and Kyle Villalon and her brothers, Larry and Alfred Snapka.
