Mary Ann Sullinger, 75, of Sandia, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born in Sheffield, Alabama to Claude E. and Helen Cobb on Mary Ann Sullinger January 27, 1939. She married Jerry Sullinger on May 18, 1962 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a graduate of Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. She worked as a devoted housewife and mother of her five children for many years. She is preceded in death by her father, Claude E. Cobb; mother, Helen Cobb; brother, Richard Cobb and grandson, Christopher Sheppard. She is survived by her husband Jerry Sullinger; five children, Larry W. Sheppard (Shelly) of Bandera, Texas, David Sheppard of Parker, Texas, John Lee Sheppard of Dallas, Texas, Gene Sullinger of Sandia, Texas and Jerry Earl Sullinger (Shawn) of Sandia, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie Sheppard Canales (Mark) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Britney Sheppard Abbot (Jason) of Chesapeake, Virginia, Ashley Sheppard Taylor (Dennis) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Samantha Ann Sullinger of Cleburne, Texas, Cassandra Paige McGee of Robstown, Texas, Stephen Allen Sullinger of Sandia, Texas and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 12:00 noon to 7:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with Mr. Richard Cobb of Journey Christian Church officiating. The family of Mary Ann Sullinger wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Angel Bright Hospice, Bay Area Medical Center and South Texas Rehabilitation Hospital.
