Mary Havran Nemec, 98, passed away at Trisun Nursing Home on December 27, 2012. She was born October 19, 1914, in Crosby, Texas to Frank John Moravek, Sr. and Theresa Pivonka Moravek. She lived in Crosby for 5 years, then moved to McAllen, Texas with her parents. In 1924 they moved again to Robstown, Texas where Mary lived until she married Edmund Havran. Mr. Havran passed away in 1964. Mary later married James Nemec of Corpus Christi, Texas. Mr. Nemec passed away at the age of 70. She then moved back to Robstown and lived next to her oldest daughter Evelyn Havran. Mary worked for GTE for several years as a switchboard operator, also for Emil Nemec and Thomas Spann Clinic as a PBX operator. She was a member of St John's Catholic Church in Robstown, belonged to KJZT, Czech Heritage of CC and St. Ann's Altar Society. Mary had a strong and loving heart as a mother, grandma, great grandma, great great grandma, sister and aunt. She always enjoyed working in her yard and making kolaches. She was also an avid bowler in her younger years with many trophies and loved to go to polka dances. Her true love was her family and all her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, father and mother, her brother and sisters, her daughter, great granddaughter, one step granddaughter, a step grandson. She is survived by her daughter, Ginger (Earl) Logue; son, Jody Havran; stepdaughter, Eileen (Champ) Nemec Champine; step daughter-in-law, Evelyn Nemec; dear friend, Kenneth Rogers; granddaughters, Diane (Tim) Brown, Laurie (Roger) Balke, Amy (Jeff) Cheatham, Joleen (James) Mills; grandson, Chad (Polly) Logue; step grandchildren, Larry (Tina) Nemec. Gregory Nemec, Sheryl (Mark) Awe, Kim (George) Yourick, Michael (Julie) Champine and Joseph Champine; 24 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren. The Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at 10 A.M. Monday, December 31, 2012 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Showalter and Rev. Msgr. Michael Howell as concelebrants. Burial will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chad Logue, James Mills, Dr. Mike Champine, Rowdy Cheatham, Scot Brown and Shane Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren. The family would like to especially thank Bethany and Lisa for the special and loving care they gave to Mary and also to her aides at Trisun, especially John.
