Mario Sanchez

Mario Sanchez, age 75, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed January 25, 2017. He was born September 30, 1941 in Weslaco, Texas to Rafael C. Sanchez and Albina Esquivel Sanchez. He graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1960 and served in the United States Air Force. Mario received Honorable Service award from United States Air Force and was a Certified Pilot. He was a member of St. Peters, Prince of the Apostles Church, NRA and USGA. He worked at the Corpus Christi International Airport, Berry Contracting and retired from the Kingsville Naval Air Station. Mario was a man of integrity, loving, strong will, disciplined, hardworking, cared for others before himself, faithful to family and friends. Loved playing golf, fishing and being with his grandkids. Enjoyed singing in the church choir and being a member at St. Peters, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. He is survived by his children, Rene (Lori) Sanchez, Sharon (Stanley) Hudson and Melissa Sanchez; grandchildren, Estevahn Cadena, Joshua Sanchez, Nikki Hudson, Paige Hudson and Jacoby Sanchez; brothers and sisters, Gilbert, Israel, Oscar, Olga Rodriguez, Nora Martinez, Viola Esquivel and Sandy Sanchez. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Chapel followed by a Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at the St. Peters, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church with interment to follow in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
