Marilyn Isenberg

June 2, 1941 — January 26, 2015

Marilyn Elaine Davis Isenberg went to be with her Lord on January 24, 2015. She was born in Robstown, Texas on June 2, 1941 to Joseph Robert (Bob) and Virgil Granger Davis. The family lived in Banquete, Texas and then moved to Calallen in 1949. Marilyn graduated from Calallen High School in 1959. Moving into Corpus Christi, she began working in the insurance field. She held various offices in the Women of Corpus Christi Club, including president. She left the insurance industry to become director of the Portland, Texas Senior Center, retiring from there after 16 1/2 years. She married Kenneth Isenberg on December 26, 1986. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerry Dale, Eugene Emerson, Joseph Robert, Jr. (J.R.); and sisters, June Bevly and Sue Roberts. She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; brother, Glen (Mary Jo) Davis; sisters, Peggy Clark, Sandy (Michael) Smith, Margie Overton; numerous nieces and nephews; special grandson, David Isenberg; four step-children, Carolyn and Randy Scott, Betty Dean, Barbara and Tommy Walford and Wayne Isenberg; nine step grandchildren, twelve step great grandchildren; and her best friend of over 50 years, Barbara Migl. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kathy Higgins for her help during this last illness. Marilyn loved playing the piano and organ. She was previously the organist at Calallen Baptist Church, Trinity Baptist Church and Lindale Baptist Church before transferring to Harbor View Chapel where she served for 25 years as their organist. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at Noon, Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Rusty Maddox officiating. A memorial service will be held at Harbor View Chapel, 3710 Seagull, Corpus Christi, Texas 78402 on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harbor View Chapel or to a charity of your choice.
