Marie Smith

Marie Smith, 96, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016. She was born October 14, 1920 in Ranger, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Annaville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Alvin, Sr. and Mamie Windham Brown; her husband, Boyd Huguley Smith; her son, Claude Edward Smith; and her brother, Claude Alvin Brown, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Janice (Jim) Boyne and Darlene (Robert) Woerndell; her sister, Betty (Marvin) Voss; her sister-in-law, Hazel Brown; five grandchildren, Kelly Boyne, Kevin Boyne, Tim (Amy) Woerndell, Crystal (Gene, Jr.) Johnson, and Angelina Kaylynn Woerndell; 13 great grandchildren, Randy Boyne, Katelynn Boyne, Stephanie Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Destiny Johnson, Lilly Johnson, Lylah Johnson, Chloey Woerndell, Amanda Woerndell, Matthew Woerndell, Andrew Woerndell, Zane Woerndell, Summer Woerndell; great great grandson, Kayson Zepeda; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin one hour before the funeral service. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, December 2, 2016 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Woerndell, Gene Johnson, Jr., Jonathan Johnson, Tim Woerndell, Kevin Boyne and Josh Landers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Boyne, Gene Johnson, Sr. and Robert Hardwick. The family would especially like to thank New Century Hospice, Debbie Hudson and Honey Duggan for their excellent and loving care of Marie.
