Maria Rios

Maria Del Refugio Barrera Rios went home to the Lord on February 11, 2014. She was born August 28, 1924 in Melvin, Texas to Jose Barrera and Rosa Felix; and raised lovingly by Brenilda Barrera. Maria is preceded in death by her loving husband Jose Luis Rios, her parents, a grandson, Jesus Edward Rios, brothers, Regulo and Ramiro, sisters, Manuela, Rosa, and Olga, and a son-in-law, Sam Saenz. Maria is survived by her children, Jose Luis (Oralia) Rios, Jr., Olivia (Noe) Portales, Rodolfo Rios, Edward Rios, Sally Saenz, and Velma (Mike) Peña; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; as well as four brothers and three sisters. Visitation with the family present will be starting at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, February 15, 2014 immediately followed at 11:00 A.M. with a Memorial Service conducted by Pastor Rod Young. All services will be at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, located at 12497 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas. Immediately following the Memorial Service, burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery, Corpus Christi, Texas.
