Maria Flores

Maria Luisa Flores, 71, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, Nana and friend went peacefully home to be with her Heavenly Father and loved ones who have prepared a place for her on December 2, 2013. She was born on October 14, 1942. She was preceded in death by one son, Juan Flores, Jr.; her parents, Jose and Maria Renteria and a great grandson, Jayden Flores. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Juan Flores, Sr.; one daughter, Idalia (Pete E.) Gonzales of La Grange, Texas; four sons, Sammy (Sandra), Juan, Jr., Rene (Savannah) all of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ralph of Robstown, Texas. She also raised Jennifer Flores and Erik D. Mejarez as her own kids; four brothers, Richard (Maggie) Renteria of Corpus Christi, Texas, Armando (Carol) of Sweetwater, Texas, Joe Renteria of Weatherford, Texas and Reynaldo of Robstown, Texas; one aunt that she loved like a sister, Rosie Ramon; 13 grandchildren, Sammy, Jr., Mathew, Manuel Roel, Ralph, Jr., Ryan, Jeremy, Korina, Esmel, Desirey, Jonathan, Jacob, John, Anissa; 6 great grandchildren, Giselle, Richard, Jr., Rhylin, Riley, Kaitlyn and Jordan. Maria was a very independent, hard working woman. She worked for Haggar for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts and baking cakes. She loved working outside with her plants. She will be dearly missed. Visitation will be Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. and Friday, December 6, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 P.M. at Church of Hope. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Church of Hope 13024 Leopard St. Corpus Christi, Texas 78410. Burial will follow at Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Erik, Ryan, Mathew, Sammy, Jr., Jonathan, Mando, Ricky Renteria and Ralph Flores, Jr. Special thanks to Connie Perez, Vangie Moreno, Elena Reyes for always being there for our mother, Church of Hope for being there for their services and family support. Also a special thanks for all caregivers and staff of Altus Hospice for the love and care you showed to our mother.
