Maria Figueroa

Maria Angel “Angie” Figueroa passed away on March 25, 2021 at the age of 77. Angie was born on August 2, 1943 in Robstown, Texas and resided there for many years before living in Northwest Corpus Christi, Texas.

Angie worked as a school nurse at the Robstown Independent School District prior to retiring in 2007. Before working at RISD, she was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for Driscoll Foundation Children and Youth Clinic in Robstown for over 30 years.

Angie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Cristel “Chris” Figueroa, Jr.; her parents, Andres Jr. and Maria Benavides, and her brothers, Joe Benavides and Andrew Benavides.

Angie is survived by her daughter, Diana Figueroa; son, Brian (Tracy) Figueroa; granddaughters, Sabrina and Mallory Figueroa; siblings, Maria Alicia Garcia (Daniel) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Olivia Gonzalez (Armando) of Robstown, Texas, Janie Low of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rosalinda Ybarra (Tomas) of Robstown, Texas, and Armando Benavides of Corpus Christi, Texas; and cousin, Irma Flores of Sandia, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 8:00 AM on Monday, April 5, 2021. Burial will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
