Margie Smith

Margie Irene Smith went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 5, 2014. She was born on September 24, 1923 to Daniel and Velma Cowan in Robstown, Texas. She was preceded in death by her precious husband, “J” Sanders Smith; beloved daughter, Veta Mae Russe; her parents; her sister, Margaret Wilson; and her brother, Blair Cowan. She is survived by her sisters, Delma Spruell and Zelma Gossett (Jr.); daughter, Tommye Jean Oliver; grandchildren, Carl Russe (Joe Ann), Joy Lee Mizell (Steve), J. Daniel Russe (Dara), and Marty Dale Oliver; as well as her great grandchildren, Corey Allen Russe, Shane David Russe, Kristin Mizell, Kayla Baez (Raul), Joseph Mizell, Jaelynn Russe and Amber Mae Russe; and great great granddaughter, Olivia Baez; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Margie will be greatly missed by her loving family, neighbors, friends and the Highway 44 Church of Christ where she was a lifetime member. Visitation with the family present will be from 1 P.M. until 4 P.M. Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, December 8, 2014 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Cash officiating. Burial will follow at Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
