Margie F. Schmidt, age 73, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 9, 2010. She was born March 2, 1937 in Laredo, Texas to James and Blanche Bailey Brown and was raised in Bruni, Texas. She was a member of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, was a homemaker and involved in the family business, Schmidt Commercial Refrigeration. Margie was a loving wife, mother, sister and NaNa. She loved life, had a bubbly personality, loved to laugh and always made others laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and dancing with her partner in life, Carl. She will be greatly missed by her family and all her dear friends. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Carl Schmidt; her daughters, Laura Leinweber Stastney of Corpus Christi, Texas, Katina Gower (Randy) of Mansfield, Texas, Edith “Edie” Crawford (Robert) of Corpus Christi, Texas; one step-daughter, Debbie Bliss of Colleyville, Texas; her sons, Carl Samuel Schmidt, II of Denver, Colorado, Paul Schmidt (Robin) of Orange Grove, Texas and Eric Schmidt (Lisa) of Kingsbury, Texas; one sister, Edna Littrell (Hal) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her grandchildren, Jimmy, Bailey, Nicole, Joshua, Shalena, Laiken, Ross-Michael, Shane, Joseph, Ethan, Jacob, Greg and David; 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 5 P.M. Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. Sunday, April 11, 2010 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Monday, April 12, 2010 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Morgan Rowsome as celebrant. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jimmy, Joshua, Ross-Michael, Shane, Joseph and Ethan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Margie Schmidt to the Susan G.
