Margaret Howard

July 27, 1932 — May 19, 2024

Corpus Christi

Margaret Ruth Ellison Howard 91, was received into our saviors arms on May 19, 2024. Corpus Christi TX, after a short illness.

Margaret was born July 27, 1932, to Roy Edward and Nellie (McDonald) Ellison in Edna Texas. She had 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Margaret attended Edna High School and then went right to work, where she was a waitress, a telephone switchboard operator, a bookkeeper for John Deere, Steinmeyer and Co. ( Mathis Tx ), and later SPID Pediatrics(Corpus Christi) as payroll and office manager until she retired at 77.

She was an extraordinary lady and no stranger to hard work. The most important thing in her life was accepting Jesus as her savior at 12 years old. She was a member of and attended Annaville Baptist Church. Becoming a grandmother (Nina) was such a joy for her. Being an exceptional seamstress she showed her talents to three generations of children. Margaret loved to read books and do jig saw puzzles in her free time. She went to Del Mar college when she was in her 50s and received her associates degree. She was an incredible cook and baker.  She. will always be remembered for her English toffee whom her grands and great-grands gave out each Christmas to their teachers. Her pies and desserts will be missed oh so much. But her contagious laugh will be heard and felt in our hearts forever.

She is preceded in death by her first love and husband for 13 short years, Bassett Bonner Wright of Mathis Tx, her parents Roy and Nellie Ellison, sisters Virginia Hoeser, Margie Tate, and Essie Wishert, and her brother Albert Ellison.

Surviving is her only child, daughter Cindy and son-in-law Robert Tennill of Calallen, and grandchildren Wade (Jennifer) Tennill Calallen, Lance Tennill Calallen, and Jill and Mike Metzker of Houston, TX. Eight great-grandchildren, Hailey OBrian, Parker Tennill, Raegan Tennill, Nicholas Afra, John Robert Tennill, Ava Afra, Payton Tennill, and Sophia Afra. Sister Helen Lenny of Victoria Tx and her brother Roy Edward Ellison and wife Cindi of Seally Tx.  And numerous nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank all those who sent their thoughts and prayers during her hospital stay.
