Marcus Long

Marcus Wesley Long, entered eternal life on December 17, 2011at the age of 73. Marcus was born July 13, 1938 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Terry Frank and Ethel Leona Huebner Long. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and a devoted man, to his family and his work. Marcus was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved daughter Janet Long. He is survived by his wife, Betty Long of Sandia, Texas; daughter, Shelley (Wes) Long Deer of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Leona Ann (Jimmy) Warren of Corpus Christi, Texas; brother, Donald Long of Cuero, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Long of Victoria, Texas, grandchildren, Hunter Valdez and Harper Deer. The Rosary will be recited on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael Howell as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Gussettville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ted Long, Gary McCumber, Arthur Uehlinger, Fred Edwards, Bill Rumfield, Joe Kestner and Mike Gorzik.
