Marcella A. Maikoetter

Marcella Maikoetter, 82 years old, was called home to heaven on February 19, 2025. She was born to Frank and Leona Kassner of the Violet community on January 5, 1943. 

She is survived by her daughter, Janell Brag, and son, Glenn Maikoetter, both of Corpus Christi. She was a grandmother to Ashley Brag, Garret Brag, and Brenna Maikoetter. Her surviving siblings are brothers Milton Kassner of Victoria and Gilbert Kassner of Corpus Christi, and sisters Illene Richter of Onalaska, Texas, and Linda Taylor of Vivian, Louisiana.

Marcella was a social studies teacher for many years with the Corpus Christi Independent School District.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Phillip and Mervin Kassner and sister Audrey Parker.

Marcella had a huge heart for animals and was an avid gardener. The Kassner family were members of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet for many years, where her funeral Mass will be held. Dates will be posted as they are confirmed with the family. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Sawyer George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi.
