Madeleine Schubert

Madeleine Schubert, 87, of Portland, Texas, passed away December 31, 2013. She was born August 31, 1926 in London, England to Alex Landry and Ellen Barden Landry. She worked for the Robstown I.S.D. for a number of years before retiring in 1989. Madeleine came to the U.S.A. in 1947 to marry F. A. Schubert (deceased) whom she had met during WWII. She was a member of the Church of Christ and taught a Ladies Bible Class for a number of years both in Robstown and Portland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand Adolph “F.A.” Schubert on August 12, 2007. She is survived by her sons, Christopher (Margie) Schubert of Portland, Texas, Mark (Marla) Schubert of Lone Star, Texas and Keith Schubert; her brother, Phillip (Elsie) Landry of Conroe, Texas; her sister, Jo Beer of Wisborough Green, England; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin one hour before the funeral service. The funeral service will be conducted at 3 P.M. Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Morris and Bryce Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
