Mabel Kirksey

Mabel Florence Clark Ware Kirksey, age 99, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Friday, September 21, 2012. She was born August 9, 1913 in Runge, Texas to John Thomas and Mary Laura Clark. Mabel was a 5th grade teacher at Sam Houston Elementary School for many years. She was also a devout Christian and Sunday School Teacher. Mabel had many talents during her lifetime. She was author of the book "I Remember Sunshine", painter and poet. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Ware and Leon Kirksey; sons, David Ware and Rev. James Ware. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Ware Ivison-Partridge; grandsons, Wayne Davis of Paulsbo, Washington, Phillip, Mathew and Mark Ware of California and T.J. Ware of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughters, Laura Ivison Darby, Lisa Ivison Edwards, Diana Ware Mayer of Wichita, Kansas and Cindy Ware Tange of San Francisco, California. Visitation will be on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 1:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Msgr. Michael Howell officiating. Interment will be private.
