Lynn Lee Dugger passed peacefully on June 11th, 2013 at the age of 96. He was born on April 3rd, 1917 in Lytton Springs, Texas. Lynn was a long term resident of Nueces County and Robstown. He was the eldest son of Lee Marion and Ada Vanlandingham Dugger. The Dugger Family moved to the Robstown area from Caldwell County in 1919. Lynn was closely connected to the land from an early age and followed in his father's footsteps, becoming a farmer and rancher. He had a special love for cotton and grain farming, horses and raising cattle. Lynn was a natural athlete, excelling at football, basketball and calf roping. After graduating from high school and attending business college, Lynn married his high school sweetheart, Elaruth Ashton Dugger. Lynn and Elaruth were class favorites their senior year and married two years later. They recently celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary. Lynn was active in community affairs - he was a member of the Robstown School Board and was instrumental in the founding of the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show and the Nueces County Youth Rodeo. He was also a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Robstown. Lynn had many friends, young and old, from all walks of life. Relationships with his friends and honesty were virtues that he believed to be most important. He had a positive outlook on life and although he valued the past, he always believed in "moving forward". He would often ask "Are we making progress?" He is survived by his wife, Elaruth Ashton Dugger, and his three loving children, Richard Lynn Dugger and wife Nancy, Bruce Lee Dugger and wife Janie, and Nancy Ruth McKenzie and husband Jim. Grandchildren include Elaina Taylor, Rosalyn Bowers, William Dugger, Lauren Weller, Lanna Dugger, Colton Range and Ashlyn McKenzie. He is also survived by his brother, Buford Dugger and many nephews and nieces. Two sisters, Ella Dugger Herring and Vivian Dugger Good preceded Lynn in death. The family is especially grateful to Vidal "Billy" Coleman who assisted Lynn in his later years. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 13th, from 4pm to 6pm at Sawyer George Funeral Home.
