Lynda Hartman Zimmerman age 61 of Calallen TX passed away Sunday June 26, 2022. She was at home with her husband and son by her side. Lynda Kaye (Hartman) Zimmerman daughter of Dr Walter Hartman and JoAnn Hartman, was born June 23, 1961, in Hallettsville TX.
She graduated from Calallen High School in 1979. She continued her education at Texas A&M University graduating with a degree in finance and education. She was an avid Aggie fan. After graduating she moved to Anchorage AK where she met her husband, Bryan. They were united in marriage on February 16th 1996 at the Holy Family Cathedral Catholic Church. They continued to live in Anchorage, where Lynda taught for the Alaska Native Cooperation through the Anchorage School District. They then made their way back to Texas. Lynda continued to teach for the San Antonio ISD at Rudder Middle School from 2001-2007. In 2007 they moved to Calallen to be closer to family. She taught at Calallen Middle School until her retirement in 2019. She was very passionate about teaching and excelled at it. Lynda had many hobbies and passions including teaching, spending time with family, interior design, loving her animals and giving direction to whomever “needed” it. Lynda had many cats, a dog and a lizard at one point all of which were some of the happiest and most loved animals in the greater south Texas area. She touched more lives than she or anyone close to her would ever know, furthermore, she would always make sure everyone was included when it came to feeding people and spreading love.
Lynda is preceded in death by her father, Dr Walter Hartman; maternal and paternal grandparents; aunts, Delores, Appelt and Ginger; uncle, Fred Stoldt; father-in-law Jim (Lavonne) Zimmerman and mother-in-law Lois Zimmerman.
Left to cherish her memories include her husband, Bryan of 26 years; children, Nathan Zimmerman, Chris Foster. Mother JoAnn Hartman; uncles Alex Lee (Barbara) Vana and Poochie Appelt; brothers, David (Beth) Hartman and Dr. Samuel (Tara) Hartman; stepmother, Shirley Hartman; stepbrother, David (Elizabeth) Percival; sisters-in-law, Kathi Guenther, Linden Zimmerman (Roni Asencio) and Laurie LaBounty; nephews and nieces include Dr. Jordan (Kayla, Simon) Hartman, Cameron Hartman, Alex Hartman, Hanah Hartman, Heidi Hartman, Morgan Cooper, Landon Guenther, Taylor LaBounty, Regan LaBounty. Along with countless cousins from the Hartman, Vana, Stoldt and Appelt, families.
A funeral service will be held Saturday July 9th at 10:00 AM at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic church 16602 FM 624 Robstown TX 78380.
