Lyda Crawford

Lyda Nancy Chance Crawford, age 93, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2010. She was born November 22, 1916 in Union Township, Kansas to Fred and Clara Mae Thomas Taylor. Lyda was a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas since 1956 and owner of C & T Gift & News at the Corpus Christi International Airport. She was a fine Christian lady and attended Western Meadows Baptist Church. She loved traveling and the great outdoors. She loved all her family and especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister and her first husband, Herschel Chance. She is survived by her husband, Dan B. Crawford of Corpus Christi, Texas; son, Ralph (Debbie) Chance of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Chance, James Chance, Nicholas Chance, Lucas Chance; Dan’s children and grand children; numerous nieces and nephews; longtime friends, Frances Montgomery and Peggy Haines. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Steve Wood officiating. Interment will be in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
