Lola Jean Wilson, 87 passed on from this world Friday, December 4, 2015, in Corpus Christi, TX. She was born to John Frank Tiner, Sr. and Martha Ellen McBee Tiner on August 13, 1928, in San Antonio, TX. Lola grew up in La Vernia, TX where she was raised on the family farm that had been in the family for two generations. She enjoyed a large family, being the youngest of 10 children. She graduated from La Vernia High School as the salutatorian of her class. She moved to San Antonio after graduation and attended business school. She worked as a secretary until meeting and marrying the love of her life, C. Ivan Wilson. Together they raised four boys. She was a member of Kings Crossing Church of Christ. Lola was a dedicated, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Nana. She was a wonderful example of a Christian woman to everyone she met. She was very outgoing, warm, friendly and witty. She loved her family and above all she loved the Lord. Lola was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 7 brothers. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, C. Ivan Wilson, four sons Alan (Catrina) Wilson of Corpus Christi, Dale (Sandy) Wilson of Alice, TX, Greg Wilson of Corpus Christi and Mark Wilson of Houston, TX. Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive her. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Nurses on Wheels and Darlene Starry and staff for the excellent care provided to Lola in her final days. A private burial will be held at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 8th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kings Crossing Church of Christ, 5901 Yorktown Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX. Memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, December 9th also at Kings Crossing Church of Christ, conducted by Buck Griffith. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
