Leonard V. Wilson “Wilson”, age 67, was called home to God on July 19, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He was born June 9, 1943 to Edward and Clara Ferk Wilson, the first son of eight boys, in Kerrville, Texas. He moved to Corpus Christi, Texas when he was 16 years old. “Wilson” worked for Citizen State Bank for 30 years and County Club Town Homes for 8 years. He was an active member of the Corpus Christi Industrial Lion’s Club where he served as president, secretary, treasurer, and tail twister. He loved to attend the activities that his grandchildren were involved in. He loved being with his family and friends and participated in activities such as taking care of his swans, sports, golfing, traveling or going out for a good meal. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry, Allen and Gene Wilson and nephew, Lonnie Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Beulah Kay Maywald Wilson; his sons, Corey (Jessica) Wilson and Scott (Melanie) Wilson; his daughters, Kendra (Bobby Pullin) Williams and Robin (Rodney) Appleby; his grandchildren, Brandon, Rodney “R.J.”, Chelsey, Dustin, Cameron, Hannah and Molly. He is also survived by Roscoe, his four-legged son; his brothers, Norman (Sally) Wilson, Stanley (Kim) Wilson, Charles Wilson and Mark Wilson; his sister-in-law, Debbie (Tim) Little and his in-laws, Lester and Alma Maywald, all of Corpus Christi; his cousins, Vickie Curry and Charles Ferk of West Virginia and numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Larry Mayo from the Country Bible Church in Taft, Texas where Leonard and Kay attended for several years, will officiate the service. Interment will be in Robstown Memorial Park.
