Leona Kocurek, 82, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away January 29, 2015. She was born February 7, 1932 in Moulton, Texas. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, and was the infection control nurse at Memorial Hospital where she nursed for over 30 years and had been a LVN for over 45 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Julia Novak Picha, her husband, Louis Kocurek, her grandson, Bubba Adams and her brother, George Picha. She is survived by her daughter, Constance (Wig) Adams of Freer, Texas; her son, Butch (Carol) Kocurek of Robstown, Texas; her sisters, Edith Rogers of George West, Texas and Delores (Joe) Pavelka of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Kami Alaniz, Kimberly (Steve) Paniagua and Louis J. “Trey” Kocurek, III; three great grandchildren, Brandon Alaniz, Lily and Jacob Paniagua; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 6 P.M. Friday, January 30, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas. The Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M. Friday, January 30, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 P.M. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas with Rev. Zenon Konowalek as celebrant. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park, Pallbearers will be Trey Kocurek, Brandon Alaniz, George Picha, Jr. , George Picha, III, David Pavelka and Allen Rogers.
