Lacey L. Hill Sr.

We have all joined here today to say goodbye to our friend, brother, Father, Husband, Daddy, Pa, Grandpa, confidant, and avid Longhorns fan, Lacey L. Hill Sr.

Lacey was born on January 24, 1939, to Delia Mondana and Autumn Alonzo Hill in Cuero, TX. He moved with his family to Corpus Christi at age 6.

Lacey did the Lord’s work in his adult life, where he devoted himself to preaching for the Church of Christ, ministering to youth, weddings, counseling, and laying to rest the people and families that sought him out. He spent many years working with Armor Cote.

Lacey went to rest on January 22, 2024,  with his wife Dorothy holding his hand. Already waiting for him in heaven were his Mom Delia, Dad Autumn, Brother Speedy, Brother Leslie, Brother Carl, and Brother Rayford as well as many brothers and sisters in Christ.

He leaves behind his siblings Richard Hill and his wife Marva Ann Hill, Joy Hill Lea, Gay Hill Crabb and her husband Joe Bob Crabb, and Sue Hill Bonar to grieve the loss of yet another family member. He was father and Daddy to three children, Diane Lynn Carlyle of Wadsworth, TX, Lacey (Bubba) Hill Jr. and his wife Rose, and Michael Curtis Hill of George West, TX.

He was called Pa by his stepchildren Kathleen (Scott) Kirby, Jodie (Joe) Alley, Kellie (Mike) Stewart, and Ronnie (Erma) Polston Jr. He also left behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lastly, he leaves behind his loving and dedicated wife of 49 years, Dorothy Adelle Hill, who saw to his health at home as long as she could. As he was in decline, he was looked after by Home Health Assisted Living operated by Larry Rodriguez whom we thank for taking such good care of him for 15 months and keeping him comfortable until his last days.
