Kimberly Rose Harmon, 57, of Houston, Texas, passed away on November 28, 2024. Born on February 16, 1967, to Herbert and Edythe Young, she is now reunited with them in Heaven. Kimberly’s passing leaves a profound heartache for all who knew and loved her, but her memory will live on in countless cherished moments.
Known for her vibrant laughter and joy, Kimberly had a gift for making people smile. From childhood, she had an incredible ability to bring laughter to everyone around her, a talent that stayed with her throughout her life. Her bubbly personality and great spirit filled family and friend gatherings with fun and warmth. She loved to entertain, often reenacting commercials and iconic TV ads—like the hilarious Band-Aid commercials featuring her dog, Pootsie, and the famous Jimmy Carter Chick-fil-A commercial.
Kimberly’s childhood was filled with laughter, and after high school, she attended Del Mar College, graduating on the Dean’s List with a 4.0 GPA in Accounting. She worked as an accountant and sales rep in the oil and gas industry for many years before following her true passion—animal rescue. Kimberly’s deep love for animals led her to become a dedicated dog rescuer, and she eventually cared for ten dogs of her own.
Kimberly fought a long battle with illness, but she is now at peace, resting in the arms of the Lord. Though she is in a better place, the legacy she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by four nephews: Lonnie Jr., Eric, Kenny, and Jacob Burnside; two brothers: Robert Metcalf and Michael (Joanne) Young; one sister, Beth Evans; one great-nephew, Lew Burnside; niece-in-law, Bekah Burnside; and brother-in-law, Wes Evans.
Kimberly’s vibrant spirit and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
