Kenneth Ray Hoya, 83, passed peacefully on May 22, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born on January 10, 1933 to Albert and Lula Hill Hoya of Nacogdoches, Texas. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Eastern Airlines after 29 years of service and then went to work for Bradley’s Inc. for another 5 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family. He was a proud supporter of the Calallen Wildcat football and baseball programs. He is preceded by his parents; brother, Else Wayne Hoya; sister, Katherine Harbuck of East Texas; grand son, Christopher Knief. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce; three children, Connie Knief, Ray Hoya (Nettie), and Desiree Ellis (Donnie); sister-in-law, Judy Roberts (Richard); grandchildren, Stephanie Knief, Jenny Hillin (Matt), Austin Hoya and Laurel Hooker; great grandchild, Collin Hillin; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 12 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will at 2 pm Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
