Kenneth Eldredge Harmon passed away Friday, November 27 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Kingsville, Texas to Roy Harmon and Tennessee Lawrence Harmon on November 17, 1927. After graduation from Banquete High School and then from his beloved Texas A&M University, Class of ’49. Kenneth served as a captain in the United States Army in Korea. He and his wife, Jo Ann McNair Harmon, were married 64 years. His daughters Lynn (Bill) Dodge, Jan (Mike) Carper, Cherry (Terry) Sears will always be inspired by his example of what it means to be a Christian husband and father. Surviving grandchildren include: Jenny (Nels) Peterson, Jessie (Branko) Aric, Linlee (Jesse) Carbajal, Matt (Emeigh) Carper, Luke (Kai) Carper, Samantha Sears and Taylor Sears. Kenneth was a farmer and rancher all his life as well as worship leader and deacon in the Agua Dulce Baptist Church. He was president of Production Credit Association, served on the board of the Education Service Center Region 2, and a member of the Agua Dulce ISD school board for many years. Kenneth also loved his sister and brother in law, Barbara and Corky Crane and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved singing, and some of his most favorite times were standing by the piano while Jo Ann played and he and his girls sang hymns. He loved God and Jo Ann, and he has been an inspiration to many. His life was the epitome of what it is to be a kind, Godly man. In lieu of flowers, donations in his grandson Taylor Harmon Sears’ name may be made to: tribute.tributecff.org/kennethharmon. A memorial service will be held at Agua Dulce Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015.
