Kathleen Schwirtlich

November 28, 1913 — January 24, 2012

Kathleen Redden Schwirtlich, known to most of her friends as "Kay", passed away peacefully January 24, 2012. She was born to John Wesley and Mary Redden on November 28, 1913. Kathleen was a long time teacher and a member of the Texas State Teacher Association. During the summer months, after teaching 9 months, she taught English to non-English speaking children. After retiring, Kathleen and her husband enjoyed traveling especially with the R.V. Club that they joined. They traveled with family and friends. Kathleen had a very full life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Sylvester, daughter Judy Foster and husband John, grandson John T. Foster , and wife Lisa and great-grandson Jack, brother John Wesley Redden Jr. and wife Ida of Waco, Texas, brothers-in-law Edward Schwirtlich and wife Jean, Leo Schwirtlich and wife Dorothy, sisters-in-law Rosina Bockholt , Minnie Schwirtlich, Rosalie Frantz and husband Howard and Doris Jones and husband Johnny. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Josephine Berger and husband Frank, Evelyn Bohot and husband Pluck, and Irene Gresser and husband Oscar. Visitation will be at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 27th, 2012 starting at 6:00 p.m. and the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 28th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas with Rev. Tom Showalter as celebrant. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kathleen’s name to St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church Building Fund, 603 North First Street, Robstown, Texas 78380.
