Kathleen King

Kathleen King, age 100, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on October 29, 2015. She was born August 5, 1915 in Paris, Texas to William I. and Sarah Russell. She sold real estate for 25 years in Corpus Christi for Alfred Edge Realtors and was a member of Calallen Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, all her brothers and sisters, husbands, Boyd Mathis and John King, and daughter, Jean Emery. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Barbara) Mathis; daughter, Peggy (Roger) Poe; 10 grandchildren, Chuck (Michelle) Mathis, Renee Mathis (Randy) Hale, Gary (Sandra) Mathis, Ken (Monica) Mathis, Terri (Jim) Montgomery, Cecil (Terri) George, Desiree (Dennis) Friedman, Dierdre Emery, Paul (Melissa) Gross and Carolyn (Gordon) Lynn; 17 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calallen Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Kent Tompkins, Bethany and Edna for their love and special care of Mrs. King.
