June Swanson

June Lorraine Swanson, 92, of Corpus Christi, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2019 after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 16, 1926 in Miami, Florida. June was married to Arthur L. Swanson for 46 years until his death in 1998. They spent most of their lives serving the Lord on their farm in the Rio Grande Valley. They sold their farm in 1992 and moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where they spent the remainder of their marriage. June had a lifetime of service in the Ladies Aid Society in her church. She loved helping and serving people in her long career as a nurse. She loved life and cherished every moment with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Lorraine and Zackary Thompson, her one brother Durwood Thompson, and two sisters Gene Thomas and Hazel Kelly, all of Florida. She is also preceded by her son in law, Kim W. Bradshaw of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is survived by her one daughter, Phyllis Bradshaw of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Dwayne (Veda) McWhorter Sr., Jerry McWhorter, Brad, Travis (Samantha), and Troy Bradshaw. Furthermore, she is survived by her great-grandchildren, Dwayne McWhorter Jr., Staci McWhorter, Hali (TC) Prather, Kristin McWhorter, Hunter McWhorter, Heather and Ryker Bradshaw, Steven (Carly) and Austin Bradshaw, and one great great grandson, Nicklaus Prather. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Annaville Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at RobstownMemorial Park.
