Judy Kay Adams, 72, went to be with the Lord early on the morning of May 21, 2017 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was at home, surrounded by her loving family, which is exactly what she wanted. Judy was born August 3rd, 1944 in Benton, Arkansas to Clyde and Marie Hendrix. She graduated from high school in Magnet Cove, Arkansas and then earned her teaching degree at what was then Henderson State Teachers College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She taught for 24 years, of which 1 ½ were in Arkansas, while the remaining were in Texas – mainly Taft, Calallen, and Orange Grove. She was also a member of Christ Central Baptist Church. Judy was an inspiration to her family and to her many friends. People were drawn to her as a woman of integrity and love. She valued hard work and spent much of her time working in her yard, which included having it decorated for the nearest holiday or season. She also enjoyed playing dominoes with her friends and family and had a lifelong affinity for reading. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Marie, and one brother, Doyle Kenneth. Judy is survived by her husband, Bill Adams and one daughter, Vickie Wilson and son-in-law David Wilson of Robstown, Texas. She was "Granna" to her two grandsons, Christopher Wilson (with wife Penny) of Conroe, Texas and Nicholas Wilson (with wife Valerie) of College Station, Texas. She is also survived by two sisters, Pat Gordon and Juanita Sample of Benton, Arkansas and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and countless friends. A memorial service will be held for Judy on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00AM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.
